Will BBC Four be renamed? It would be odd to have One, Two and Four
on the TV, but not Three.

Perhaps BBC Four could use the name of the channel it replaced in 2002:
BBC Knowledge.

Was it not BBC Choice at one stage?

Perhaps they'll rename BBC News 24^H^HChannel BBC3

BBC Choice was the predecessor of BBC Three. It wasn't a direct
equivalent though.

I feel a rebranding exercise coming on here to waste even more money.
It depends on whether the image of the channels is to change. There could
be BBC1 renamed to BBC entertainment, BBC2 to BBC arts and BBC 4 to BBC
documentaries
BBC 3 on line could be subscription only and only running pre release to
the great unwashed , we could call it BBC crucial or some other trendy
sounding name.

Wasted on me, does it have new sounds with it?
Anyone can design a logo surely. The cleaner did this one I imagine.

It cost hundreds of thousands of pounds for the logo PLUS the cost of
changing everything where the BBC3 logo used to appear.

Remember the awful 2012 Olympics logo?

When GM created a new division, Saturn, in the US, they allegedly paid
$1M for a logo. It consisted of two intersecting silver arcs on a red
background. Wow.

See it he

BBC Choice was a sort of 'catch up' service, for BBC 1 and 2.

A bit like 4-Seven is for C4

(Although it did have some original programming too)

Don't forget radio. We could call Radio 2 under a catchy name such as
the BBC Light Service, Radio 3 would become the BBC Third Programme,
Radio 4 as BBC Home Service, etc.

Was it not the Light Programme? And could Radio London become 2LO?

For a good part of the 20th Century it was rare to find a 2nd class
railway compartment most being abolished about 1870 when third class
was upgraded. It wasn't until the 1950's before 3rd officially
changed to 2nd.
