Yes honestly, they did! On the news channel! A long item about
temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere being unseasonally high. They wheeled a bloke on who said it was all due to El Nino. He didn't mention global warming once and not did the voice over the bits of video they showed. I can't believe it! I wonder if someone will be sent for re-education, as happened after the 'What's the Point of...?' programme in which Quintin Letts was seriously off-message and expressed scepticism about global warming. You can't listen to the programme because the BBC have banned it. They don't like free speech. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06418l5 Bill |

Google up! Global warming gives every appearance of being a well established fact. There is some debate about its cause (after all [only] a few thousand years ago much of England and all of Scotland were under over 1,000m of ice), however rising CO2 due to fossil fuel consumption would seem a strong candidate. The effects of global warming are similar to El Nino (more extreme weather), but arise more gradually. |

I can't believe it! http://blog.metoffice.gov.uk/2015/12...a-media-storm/ On Monday, in a blog, we were very clear not to link the record-breaking rainfall with climate change. This is what Professor Dame Julia Slingo, Met Office Chief Scientist has said: “It’s too early to say definitively whether climate change has made a contribution to the exceptional rainfall. We anticipated a wet, stormy start to winter in our three-month outlooks, associated with the strong El Niño and other factors. Free speech as in saying the Met were alarmist, promoting climate change and lobbying governments. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-35009533 We expect that from the Daily Mail, not the BBC. "presented by Daily Mail sketch writer Quentin Letts" What a surprise... |

She was contradicted by every one of her underlings. Free speech as in saying the Met were alarmist, promoting climate change and lobbying governments. Yes, exactly. Free speech even means the freedom to say heretical things like that. Or are you so blinkered and brainwashed you are prepared to abandon free speech when it goes against the BBC line? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-35009533 We expect that from the Daily Mail, not the BBC. But you see, therein lies the point. The BBC, as a public service broadcaster paid for by compulsory subscription, should allow everyone to express their view. By saying you don't expect a certain viewpoint to be heard on the BBC you are making my point for me. Bill |

She was contradicted by every one of her underlings. When was that then? Free speech as in saying the Met were alarmist, promoting climate change and lobbying governments. Yes, exactly. Free speech even means the freedom to say heretical things like that. And he didn't give them the free speech to refute the allegations. Or are you so blinkered and brainwashed you are prepared to abandon free speech when it goes against the BBC line? Not free speech when all you do is attack someone. Remember what happened to Jon Gaunt? And it wasn't the BBC that removed it, it was a ruling by the BBC Trust, independent of the BBC. Learn the difference. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-35009533 We expect that from the Daily Mail, not the BBC. But you see, therein lies the point. What point? All you did was spout lies like 'BBC blames el Nino' when it was the opposite. The BBC, as a public service broadcaster paid for by compulsory subscription, should allow everyone to express their view. One thing to have a view, another to just attack your opponent and don't let them answer back. MPs are fair game, but not organisations. It's why consumer programs like Watchdog let the directors of companies they feature answer the complaints if they wish to. |
