One of the things that sold me on Tivo was the selling point that it would
tape a show even when the schedule changed. Twice in the last 2 weeks a football game ran into my shows normal time. Tivo still started at the show's normal time and as a result stopped recording when the show is normally over. I missed 20 minutes of the show both times. What is the deal with that? I thought Tivo was supposed to be aware of that sort of thing and compensate for it. Anyone got any info? Joe |

The schedule INFORMATION as provided to the Tivo has to indicate the change. For example, if NBC schedules a show and hour earlier, or runs an extra episode of something back to back, and it's in the schedule, then the Tivo will catch it. I record shown by name now, and I find I no longer really know when shows are actually aired. It's also great for cable shows that areon many times a week. If a higher priority season pass pre-empts it, the Tivo picks up some othr showing, even if its some 3am rebroadcast. But if it's an unannounced change- just a game going over or a some sort of news event- there's really nothing to be done about it. The networks would probably have to embed something in their signals to describe its current contents. |

It takes about 36 hours of advance notice for the information to percolate down from Tribune Media Services, to TiVo headquarters, and finally to your TiVo. -Joe |

And it will, as long as the changes are published in time to get them to your unit. Twice in the last 2 weeks a football game ran into my shows normal time. Tivo still started at the show's normal time and as a result stopped recording when the show is normally over. I missed 20 minutes of the show both times. What is the deal with that?
