Should the Netherlands be preparing for a lowering of the sea level

the sea level?

Well lets just hope the levels don't fall too much, least -

"And after 2000 years of trying to hold back the sea, the Netherlands
are finally high and dry. No longer living with the constant threat of a
cataclysmic flood, they're free to turn their energies toward outward
expansion. They immediately spread out and claim the newly-exposed land."

Perhaps to be expected that they take for granted that

"Yorkshire" == "Globe" returns TRUE.

Slainte,

Jim

Ha! I think Paul Hudson's sticking his neck out though, saying anything
that might dilute the global warming message. After all, the BBC got rid
of Christa partly because she wasn't always 'on message'.

I can just see Paul getting the sack.

The bit I saw in a preview was the Look North weatherman interviewing
an academic in Reading University. I guess that if you are an academic
meteorologist you need to come up with a controversial (recycled)
theory to justify the job

In any case it's the same theory that some Russian meteorologists have
been publicising for a while.

Doubt it, he's too popular.

Plus they got rid of Christa to save money - she was freelance
(and a Company?) on £150Kpa where the others are on about a third
of that. Just Google her name and its all there.

Mind you, I for one don't miss her.

Since when has that mattered to the BBC? 'It ain't half hot mum' would
be very popular if they repeated it but they won't because of their
barmy PC ideas.

I know all about that, but when they pinched her from Calendar she set
those terms and they accepted them. It's just that as time has passed
she's got less tolerant of the leftist bull**** she's had to read out.
It was really obvious; you could see it in her face.

Look North Leeds is second only to Look North-West for its left-wing bias.

Well no, I mean, she was putting that much clog on it was ridiculous.

We've been watching Nicola with baited breath, wondering if she might
pop early, on live TV. But no, and she's on maternity leave now.

She was still there today.

I'm pretty sure that was her last day. Her due date is the 24th November
I think. Actually, if she is off from today that's a bit early to start
maternity leave isn't? I thought most of them leave it as long as
possible so they have more time at home with the baby.

Was she involved in the birth?

My d-i-l planned to start her maternity leave 2 weeks before the due
date, but because the baby was born two weeks prematurely, she had no
maternity leave prior to the birth. I was a bit surprised that all
employed women are entitled to up to a year maternity leave.

Yes it's a nightmare for small businesses. I know a few who won't employ
pre-menopausal woman for that reason.

The point I think is that the climate of the earth continually changes, but
I suppose as there are now so many of us and sheep etc, that we are bound to

whole population of the earth on one continent, would the wobble change?

Brian

It would but most probably by too little an amount to be measurable.
However, it is possible to observe the cyclical slowdown and speedup
of the Earth's rotation due to the rising sap in the northern
hemisphere's forests during the northern hemisphere's summer season.
