I understood that you need a freesat STB to get tv from the 3rd LNB (first
2 used for sky plus)of a sky dish? has something changed? - My ex had someone run a coax from the 3rd lnb to give my daughter tv in her bedroom - the old freesat box they had didnt work so the guy used a fscrew-aerial adaptor and plugged into the aerial socket of a Logik freeview tv and got a picture straight away - no further investigations done - is this possible ?? if so how ? puzzled -- (º•.¸(¨*•.¸ ¸.•*¨)¸.•º) .•°•. Is she close to a transmitter? She will probably get the same or better signal with a set-top aerial plugged in instead. I wonder why the Freesat box didn't work, I would try it on one of the known working feeds on the Sky Plus, then she will know if the box is still working. -- Graham. %Profound_observation% |

Probably not. My Freeview TV happens to have a satellite receiver that I don't use (not Freesat, just free-to-air satellite) but that tuner section has an F-socket. I'd guess that you are close to a main Freeview transmitter and that a signal is leaking in somehow. What is the model of the TV? |

Many satellite receivers have IF out. When the box is off the signal is passed through unaltered (apart from insertion loss) and whatever is plugged in selects the band and polarity. When the box is on it controls band and polarity and you can only tune channels with the same of both. |

That appears to just have a standard-def Freeview tuner, according to a quick Google, so it probably is picking up a leaked Freeview signal from a close transmitter. |
