We always look at Fort William on the weather forecast and say "It's still raining" It must be more than 20 years since we were last there. The first time we went there almost 30 years ago it didn't rain, in fact it didn't rain at all in the whole week that we were up there. The second time we arrived at the end of a heat wave. It started raining during the night. We delayed starting a boat trip to Inverness for three days hoping the gale and rain would stop and then we gave up and did the trip as fast as we could and went home. It seems that the benefits of global warming, should it start again, will outweigh the disadvantages, at least for the next fifty years. Not that I believe anyone can know what the climate's going to do in the next fifty years. They can't even get it right for a ten year period, it now seems. Bill |

Change the temperature and the vegetation would be different too. A prime example would be heather. -- *Why is the word abbreviation so long? * Dave Plowman London SW To e-mail, change noise into sound. |
