Wouldn't it be simpler if I just bought that in the first place?

But won't that only feed power its outputs (for magic eyes) rather than
to its input (for the upstairs amp)?

That's what I want. (I must've not explained myself clearly.) I'm just
trying to replicate what I've had working until we dumped Sky for Humax
Freesat.

The DC power feed on the output will power the amp upstairs. Overkill
maybe but the set-up has proven to be reliable for our needs.

You can't use Sky remote eyes with a non-Sky box. The box won't
recognise the signal from the eyes.

Oh, I thought you were going from aerial to upstairs amp, to downstairs
splitter with power injected for the amp.

No. Aerial in loft straight down to living room. This amp/splitter (I
finally went to Screwfix (http://preview.tinyurl.com/nxtfr82 + has a
friendly blue light) as it's marginally closer and I could check they
had it in stock and my experience of ToolStation is that often they
don't). This also powers the amp/splitter upstairs, (also now has a
friendly blue LED shining bright again), which provides Freeview to the
TVs up there. Happy.

(No Bill, no magic eye use now and, through the magic of the DLNA
clients in the Humax boxes, no further need for a lengthy HDMI cable
running from the PC to the TV either.)

No, sure, that was never my expectation.

In fact with more thought and following the discussion on here I
realised I could simplify the topology of the wiring quite radically now
that I've removed the need to propagate the output from the Sky+ boxes
around the house. I'll now just have a (Wolsley) mast-head amplifier and
single cables to each TV. The Labgear has gone back to Screwfix. :-)

So, many thanks all. :-)
