All I wanted to do was to subscribe to Gold and watch all those old
programmes again. So I went on line to find the right place and kept being sent to remote and obscure sites that seemed to involve lots of progs and equipment that had nothing to do with getting Gold on Freeview. Could someone please point me in the right direction? I have a tv with Freeview and a HD recorder, so I don't want to have to buy more stuff. All I want is the progs. Can't be that difficult, can it? Hugh doesn't sound like it's worth your time according to this.... http://www.topuptv.com/help+centre/product+help/GOLD only runs between 11am and 2pm. plus i think it's been a bad channel since it stopped being UK gold. -- Gareth. Well it is, as Gold on DTT is encrypted so you need a box with a slot and something to stick in the slot. As noted by other respondents, Top Up TV provide Gold during a limited number of hours but they expect you to buy their PVR to get Gold and other stuff I think. -- Max Demian |

Hve you tried this information site: http://www.uknetguide.co.uk/TV/Artic...TV-106123.html It seems that either you have to buy a Top Up TV box or get a card to plug into your existing STB if it is one of the supported STBs. Gold is not on Freeview http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_(TV_channel) It's a subscription channel that is broadcast in one of the "Freeview" multiplexes: COM4/SDN, according to this list: http://www.dtg.org.uk/industry/dtt_channels.html It is included in the Freeview onscreen EPG. It is available only for 3 hours from 11 am to 2 pm. And according to the EPG that is only on weekdays. There are no programmes shown for Saturdays and Sundays. GOLD, like Sky Sports 1 and 2, is not free but does have an entry and an LCN in the Freeview EPG. -- Peter Duncanson (in uk.tech.digital-tv) |
