Hadn't she lost her marbles in the last, maybe, ten years?

Didn't think she had time to play marbles.

Well I've got a Three year olde Nokia and it's fine most all of the
time, yes sometimes there is a bit of break up and I tend it use it in
preference sometimes to the landline to use up those inclusive minutes.

I'm still using a little Nokia that must be about 6 years old now. I
paid just 30 quid for it. Only 2G, but does the job and fits nicely in
my pocket.

I have considered getting something more advanced, but smart phones seem
to be significantly bigger than my Nokia, and also look a lot more
fragile. I was tempted by the idea of 4G, until I saw the tariff
charges. May well be tempted at some point in the future, if a bit of
competition brings the charges down.

Orange but it's on all GSM phones. Any call from a GSM mobile has *at
least* a 20 mS delay by the nature of the coding. Maybe you are just used
to it I hate it and the poor sound quality compared to a
landline/landline call.

You must be extra sensitive to the delay, I've never noticed it.
I've never noticed any problem with sound quality either, but then I
don't use my phone much, and when I do I'm only interested in
understanding what is being said.

Sound quality mostly only bothers me when it is music with poor quality,
then it becomes annoying, as it spoils my enjoyment.

Perhaps in the scheme that I saw on the TV the farmers might have been
among the people who wanted to get Broadband. Presumably in a remote
rural area farmers can also have trouble getting broadband.

There's nowt as strange as folk. Some will quite happily cut of their
nose to spite their face.

Whatever the reasons, this particular scheme existed, as I saw in on a
TV program, probably a news program, but I don't remember now.

There may well be other cases where it is not worth running cables
across fields. In this case, perhaps it may be a good idea to consider
radio links.

A mere baby. My current phone is a Sony Ericson T610 from about
2003/4. Obtained as it was one of the very few mobiles that could do
email natively at that time. It's the third phone I have had since
getting the first one in about 1994.

Alright if you need email, but the T610 is deaf as a post.

My main phone is still a Nokia 6310i from 2002, they work well,
are easy to use, and they have the longest lasting battery of all.

Whereupon Batman responded with a carefully focussed

Yay! Good for you - the 6310i is an all time classic, and quite
collectable (you can still buy refurbished ones on eBay). It's a
cracking phone, I reckon.
