Default force software upgrade to 4.0.1?

In one location I use a Series 2 and see that it has the "Summer Upgrade" to
software version 4.0.1. Buggest noticeable difference is that program guide
change from TiVo only schedule to a TV-Guide option that could display in 2
different ways. -Don't know about other changes -oh...maybe 802.11G network
connector now accepted. The software update occured during a normal
"check-in".

In another location, I use a Series 2 that still has the 4.0.0.1 -which has
the pre-TV guide listings. Forcing it to connect to TiVo central and update
has not updated the software to the next version. Any way to get this to
happen? -Or is it just a matter of waiting?

Thanks

You just have to wait. They've currently only rolled the update out
to a limited number of units.

It will upgrade when it upgrades. I have 2 units. One was upgraded on Aug
25, the other on Aug 30. Patience.

Here are Standalone Tivo users worrying about the upgrade to 4.01; when
us DirecTivo users still don't have Version 4 let alone any indication
when me might to get Version 4.

DTiVo users should be calling, emailing, and mailing DirecTV to nag
them about 4.0 and HMO. They're the roadblock.

Number One reason HMO features might not appear on DirecTV DVR with TiVo:
The first generation machines won't get the HMO option. DirecTV doesn't
distinguish the generations. As far as DirecTV is concerned the feature set
is the same.

Other possible Number One reason: Don't introduce a feature which is likely
to increase user support services.

Not to mention that all the series 1 owners are apparently not going
to get any new of these new features even though we're paying for
maintenance too.

Have you seen the titillating program titles on channel 582?
A couple of football items scheduled for Sunday and...
"DVR Showcase on DIRECTV 4", 45 minutes scheduled for
early Monday morning at several times.

That "4" might infer data from DirecTV 4S spot beam satellite,
or it's a typo. I wouldn't go so far as to believe it has anything
to do with a software update.

No DirecTV DVR with TiVo user knows whether software updates
will continue or not continue. We simply don't know.

Maybe software maintenance is NOT included in the $4.99 monthly
DirecTV DVR fee. Would you pay for some of the HMO features?
Standalone owners have to pay for the HMO option.
