it's 75ohm and can take an F connector)

Yes a fair question, it is made a bit more difficult by the fact that there
are two sorts of F connector, the kind that fits between the dielectric and
the braid; and the kind which you fold back some braid over the outside of
the cable and the connector screws over it. (These seem to be more popular
these days, back when I was installing CATV in Canada the first type was all
we saw.) (pauses to recall the joys of Labatt's Blue....)

So you look up the dimensions of the cable you want to use, and find a
connector (there's probably only a choice of two or three) the right size,
there being only one dimension that counts for either kind of connector as
the centre pin is always the inner conductor of the cable.

Or buy a few of each size and pick the right one.

I have limited knowledge of this.

There are "twist-on" and "compression" types. The twist-ons come in
various sizes with the type of cable they are for in the name of the
plug.

This tells me (I hope correctly) that an RG6 plug is suitable for CT100
cable.

This is, however, the first place I have seen the two linked.

When my tuit is no longer square I might have a go at putting something in

I just quoted from the Maplin website because it had useful information.

I worry that Maplin could be the next high street demise. The place is
always swarming with assistants whenever I go there, which must cost
quite a lot in wages considering the rarefied nature of most of what
they're selling. A typical greengrocer or newsagent might have only
one or two assistants and pretty much constant throughput at the till,
but our Maplin branch often has half a dozen or more, with one of them
only occasionally going to the till when somebody actually wants to
buy something. It has the appearance of money going out faster than
it's coming in.

It'll be a shame if it goes. There's nobody else in the high street
doing exactly what they're doing.

they sold their shops to Carphone Warehouse - Radio Shack still flourishes
in the USA. Interestingly, in Guildford Maplin are in the shop that used
to be Tandy.
