Default Media Center

I downloaded and installed Media Center which is designed to manage all
audio/video files and also work with the Tivo server. I have had mixed
results in getting it to work with the TIVO beacon so that it properly
manages my files on the TIVO. Has anyone else tried this?

I've tried it and it worked fine for me on two TiVo's, although I get better
quality and manageability on my PC. But I got it to work. I just tested it and
it still works fine.

You aren't managing files on your TiVo, you are viewing images on your PC
through your TiVo, or playing music on your PC through your TiVo. So you are
seeing your PC's directory of images or music files when watching TV.

Thanks,
I understand that I am only playing the files from the Media Center. My
problem is that I can't get the TIVO to recognize the Media Center Server.

I have been trying to get the Media Center Server to work with my TIVO. I
have tried just about every combination of settings, but cannot get the
Media Center to work. The TIVO Media Center seems to always come up on the
screen instead of the Media Center Server options.

I looked at the Media Center server screen on the computer, and this is what
I see:

08/27/03 08:52:41 - cannot bind
08/27/03 08:52:44 - TiVo HTTP listener failed
08/27/03 08:52:44 - TiVo HTTP ready for connections

I think the problem is with the "cannot bind" part, but I don't know what to
try next. Any helpwould be appreciated!

I don't see anyone jumping in here and I don't really have an answer. I
thought I'd at least include this link to check out before going to support.

Sorry I couldn't be of much help.

Hehehe... few months old, but why not, eh?

"Cannot bind" would mean that something else on your computer is listening
on the port that Media Center wants to use.

I don't know what port that is, but I'd guess 80 if it's a web-like
interface (80 is the standard http port).

So: Do you have any web servers running on your PC? Personal web serving,
or anything like that enabled?

Any other servers?
