SSD price increase.

About 3 months ago I purchased a SanDisk 64GB 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive
for £31.38, from Novatech, I've been pretty pleased with it so I thought I'd
treat myself to another one, however I was quite shocked to find that the
same drive now cost a £53.99, when if anything (even allowing for the drop
in the value of the pound) going on previous form I would have had expected
to have been even cheaper, seems strange, especially as other types of flash
memory still appear to be reasonably priced, does anyone have an explanation
for such a large price increase?

found on larger capacities where you can still pay under 50p per GB.

If you do need a smaller drive, something like this might be an option.

Even that has (allegedly) been reduced from £55.00 yet is still over a fiver
more expensive, with not such a good spec as my original better known
SanDisk, although my main curiosity was why such a huge price increase in
such a short space of time, especially when one usually expects the price of
such products to drop quite markedly as their sales volume increase.

It has been saying "More than 10 available" for some time now. I wonder
why nobody
has been buying them? They must be really good.

On ebay you pay fees when listing an item. It's not uncommon for business
sellers who have temporarily run out of stock to put the price up to a daft
amount, then drop it back down when they have more ready to sell.

It's a quick way of saving time and money

It all makes a bit more sense now. In any case I've found that before even
considering bidding on anything on Ebay, it's advisable to check the price of a
new one from a familiar source, such as Amazon. Unless the Ebay price is
substantially less than the price of a new one I don't consider it worth the
uncertainty, and sometimes it actually ends up being more. Perhaps people don't
do any basic research first, which is very strange considering it only takes
seconds to check the price of something, or maybe they just get carried away.
