Got this report which refers to yesterday Sunday.

"The picture quality seems to have improved today, it has been noted on a
number of forums.

I noticed that the newscasters today were better on a par with sky news hd."

As BBC1 HD improved?
Regards
David

Not entirely, however my understanding is that [BBC] data rates are
generally higher on DSAT.

.....however dynamic p/i encoding is employed on the DTT HD mux, which un
levels the playing field.

I watch BBC HD broadcasts on both platforms 50:50, and I don't detect any
significant difference with picture quality between them.

Well, the only BBC 'News' broadcasts in HD at present are Breakfast, Andrew
Marr, The Politics Show, and NewsNight.

Anyway, don't the Beeb have a 'technical lockdown' leading up to, and over the
Christmas and New Year period, where no technical tinkering is permitted, just
in case it causes something to go pear shaped, so how could anything have
changed on Sunday (30th Dec)?

All the broadcasters have the chrimbo lockdown, as part of the Digital
Group. Or did in my day!
