Default New firmware for BushiD TVs?

Anyone know if newer firmware is available for BushiD TVs? Specifically the
Bush seems to be a brand which came, and went, via Alba and Argos so are
they a techno dead-end?

I'm interested because I was asked to take a look at one where when you
change channel, the TV often just freezes.

Thanks
Paul DS.

Wikipedia suggests the name has been changed to Harvard, which used, if I
recall only to be associated with clocks etc, before.
Seems its still mostly owned in this country by Argos/Homebase though the
products are made in other countries.

Seem to remember that name way back associated with CB sets and small radio
units.
Is the brand name Goodman associated with Alba and Bush also.

A while back I wanted info. on some of these brands and failed to find any
of them having web sites which is most unusual for domestic electronic
products.

Goodmans is split I think, the old speakers firm is kind of in cold storage
but the other is still out there, it used to be in the same fold as Alba,
but not seen it recently. Its definitely a possiblity.
Lots of these old names seem to be being bought and sold like crazy.
Wharfdale and Fidelity and Decca etc.
Not to mention Grundig of course...

Wharfdale I think is split too like you mention for Goodmans, cheap domestic
electronics like the Alba/Bush things and two loudspeaker companies, one
domestic products the other professional.
Like the old Decca they were quality, my favourite would have be Murphy
believe they were considered best for their designers.
Grundig in UK was Dixons brand name last time I saw it used.

....snip...

So I'm guessing the answer to my question is "not a snowball's chance in
hell". This really is expletive deleted - ye olde analogue TV was good
for 40-odd years (or at least until some key component died) but here we
have perfectly serviceable hardware which is obsolete because there are no
software changes.

There really should be a requirement for manufacturers to either maintain
the software or make the entire build chain open-source, so those of us with
too much time on our hands can maintain and fix it, at least to keep things
running in the simplest sense.
