For next week's, I have edited its entry in Schedule and changed the end time from 00:15 to 00:20, to see if that will catch the end. (Each episode appears to be starting a couple of minutes late.) Mmm. That not only didn't work, but the recording didn't work at all! This morning I booted the Foxsat HDR, selected Media and 'Homeland'. The 'i' bitton confirmed the episode date, channel (4-Seven) and time, and precis of the episode. But what was *played* was a documentary about some woman called Louise Wedderburn who had a rare genetic disorder, followed by 'Grand Design', both contrary to the Radio Times and the Foxsat's EPG. It's too much for it to be a coincidence that this siuation was connected to adding 5 mins to the ending time in the Schedule entry, so I won't try doing that again! According to the episode precis (and internet): "Brody finds himself a prisoner again, but this time on American soil. Carrie is forced to play 2nd fiddle after her rash judgement call at the hotel, while Estes is kept busy making sure that Jessica stays off their trail. Meanwhile, Dana's relationship with Finn is taken to the next level, changing from fun to deadly serious." What did I miss?! -- /\/\aurice (Replace "nomail.afraid" by "bcs" to reply by email) |

Somewhere there is a setting that changes the end time of all recordings to be so many minutes longer than the EPG time. Yes, but I don't want *all* recordings to be affected, because that hinders overall back-to-back recording. -- /\/\aurice (Replace "nomail.afraid" by "bcs" to reply by email) |

I assumed that there had been a last minute schedule change or the wrong programme was transmitted. I can now see what happened. The 4-Seven Homeland repeat has been shifted from 23:05 Sunday to 21:00 MONDAY! Last Sunday the RT hadn't picked up that change in its 9pm Ch.4 section, but it has for this coming weekend... -- /\/\aurice (Replace "nomail.afraid" by "bcs" to reply by email) |

Unamusingly the repeat later in the week did exactly the same thing. Paul DS. I was amazed to see this - Yes it happened to me but my machine is a TVonics. I got round it by D/L the relevant episodes from Pirate Bay. It also happened when I recorded one of Ian Hislop's "Stiff upper lip" episodes. recording on sky+ 4HD also refused to start until i played around with the R switch a few times |

Anyone else found that? Surely that's a bug (Humax Foxsat HDR) It's not a bug. It's a feature. When you edit an entry in the schedule to change either the start or end time it becomes a manually-set timed recording. You lose any connection with the series or with transmitted start and stop signals for the programme. There is a bug in that the details for the recording in the edit pop-up still says "Repeat: Series" after you have adjusted one of the times. However as soon as you press OK to store the edited details the series symbol is removed from the entry in the schedule. If you press Yellow again to see the details the "Repeat" data has changed to "Once" You can set it to repeat Daily/Weekly/whatever by selecting the desired frequency from the available Repeat values. -- Peter Duncanson (in uk.tech.digital-tv) |

You can set it to repeat Daily/Weekly/whatever by selecting the desired frequency from the available Repeat values. I now understand that - though 'Series' is not available. Still, Weekly is, which is OK for e.g. Homeland. Thank you, Peter! -- /\/\aurice (Replace "nomail.afraid" by "bcs" to reply by email) |
