Default Humax PVR fails to record end of programme

Did anyone else record the "50 years of Bond cars" earlier this week?
My PVR3000T ended the recording before the programme had finished. It
often misses the beginning of programmes but rarely the end. It is
using accurate record.

This means that the transmitting channel mucked up the EPG now/next.
'Accurate record' can only be as accurate as the people running the
transmission.

My MythTV failed to get the end too and I have an end margin of five
minutes.

Lose (rhymes with fuse) is a verb, the opposite of find. Loose (rhymes
with juice) is an adjective, the opposite of tight.

Just watched that recorded on a Humax DSAT Foxsat-HDR, and it did record
all 1 hour and 2 minutes of it, including an advert, sorry trail, at the
end.

Noticed however that the Foxsat HDR is increasingly failing to record to
the end of programmes, on BBC and other channels. Don't know whether
that's because the Humax software is failing to wait for the end of
programme flag or the channel is sending it early! Not aware of any
Humax updates.

Richard

Annoying Thunderbird sent this reply to to OP instead of the newsgroup,
because in one of it's updates it's reset the "to" box to "To:" ....

My TV recorded it correctly (with about 30 seconds extra at the end).
I was recording from BBC HD.

Looks like the problem was confined to terrestrial SD transmissions
then.

I recorded it from terrestrial SD on a TVonics PVR and got the whole
programme with a bit to spare afterwards. I've deleted the programme now so
I can't check how much after was recorded, but I certainly got all the
programme and credits.

I record mainly on Windows Media Centre on my PC, from SD, and it's very
very rare that I miss the start or end of the programme unless it's running
very early or late, but I think it allows several minutes before and after
as a safety margin either side of the published time, rather than using
PDC-style "start recording now" and "stop recording now" signals in the
broadcast.

In contrast, the TVonics recorder (which I use mainly if Media Centre is
already recording something else) seems to start and stop recording more
accurately either side of the programme, which suggests that it may be using
control signals rather than starting M minutes before and N minutes after
the scheduled time.

On Freeview the programme finished at around 22:01:27 (taken from a files time
tag that is synced to NTP)

Mine missed the first 30 seconds - 45 including the pres. anno.

This was on the Mendip transmitter.

Likewise.

Could transmitter make a difference?

No. Not in England anyway. Possibly in the other nations.
