Default Sky subscription query

At home I have 3 sky boxes that I mostly use for radio. I would like to get a sky subscription. Am I able to use the card in each box (one box at any given time), or is the card locked to a single box?

Not had any recent experience, but it certainly used to be the case that
the non premium (i.e anything other than sports and films) subscription
channels would work in any box the card was inserted.

Yes they used to, but with the latest card they only work in one digibox (I
have such a subscription and a spare box so can speak with certainty).

Just the small drawback of costing over £20/month...

Thank you to all who responded. I am disappointed but not surprised.

The only way they could do that would be if it phoned home a lot surely?

I think the multi-room boxes do phone home, some friends of mine had to
ditch the multi-room when they emigrated, other than that, uncle Rupe
seems happy enough to send the paperwork to my address!

I was going to say this. someone I knew buys it via a friend here in the
uk, who sends it to France and its put in a box there and seems to work, so
unless some hacking has gone on....
Brian

You can get a subscription card to work in a new box by phoning Sky and
giving the box details, as long as you are receiving a good signal, they
must send a signal to do this.
