Default "Good Cop" on BBC 1 Thursday 20th September 2012 Failed to record

Hi all,
On Thursday the 20th September 2012, I had "Good Cop" set as
a series record on my
Humax HDR Fox T2 Recorder.
This was on BBC 1 as SD not HD.
I went to watch it yesterday the 23rd September but the file was empty
with a "failed to record" label.

I then looked on I Player but it does not show up there!
Would anyone know if it was cancelled for some reason?

Thanks,
Mick IOW

It wasn't shown. Presumably it's something to do with those two police
officers who were shot.

Perhaps Auntie failed to retune the iPlayer on Wednesday ...

Yes, I remember seeing on the website it was to be deferred due to
showing violence towards a female officer.

I wonder if/when it will be on.
The Freesat Hummy started to record the substituted programme.

I do sometimes wonder if broadcast companies think nobody has an on off
button on their tellies though, while fully understanding the motive, it
does seem to me that the public is being treated a bit like fragile china.

Yet ch 5 seem to still show cop series which contain just such things on
their various channels. Is there a common policy or are we to assume the
programme which was not shown was far more than just that, ie near the same
conditions.

Thank you for explaining.
A downside of not watching live is not knowing of a program change.

One is the BBC, the other is Channel 5, so there is unlikely to be
consensus between them. And I think that the postponed 'Good Cop' show
has a particularly violent woman police officer attack, from what I
read, so I can understand the reasoning. One of those cases where,
whether they postponed it or they didn't, somebody would complain.

It's long been policy to be cautious where entertainment programmes
might appear to be relevant to a tragic incident. I can remember a Goon
Show being postponed because it contained a rail crash, and there had
just been a very nasty one at Didcot. I think it's a reasonable
procedure, even though this wasn't a comedy, where the drama
accidentally comes close to something over which people are still
shocked.
