Long ago a French guy that I knew was driving past Rotterdam Zoo early

call the police. When he got back to his car the kangaroo had gone,
the zoo denied they had a missing kangaroo.

An ostrich was killed on a nearby hill about 15 years ago. No-one has owned
up to owning it. I wonder who got the meat?

Perhaps the photographer has sold exclusive rights to it.

It was on the ITV news, but not the BBC.

There was nothing in the pic to give scale, so it could easily have been a
cat.

I think I just heard it - must be nearby

A lion on the loose has been reported in the Clacton on Sea (Essex) area.

The local (BBC) radio has just reported that the Police have set up road
blocks!
Perhaps the Police believe the lion is driving a 4x4.

This is the same radio station that reported that snow is cold and white
and floodplains flood as headline news items.

Apparently someone heard it roaring in the night.

This only happened to me once - ~ summer 1972 I stayed in a mate from school's family retreat in Wiltshire. A kind of summer house, bit basic, no mains electric etc. We retired fairly early and still awake ~10pm I was alerted to the sound of a lion roaring, obviously not too far away. "What the **** was that!?!" I asked. "Oh don't worry" came the reply in the dark - "this plot backs on to the lion enclosure at Longleat, but they can't get out..."

I once hit a deer, and it did a lot of damage.

You got off lightly. There are around 9000 deer-related accidents and 20
deaths a year.

Yes, it's a pretty fair bet if you do hit one, your car will be written off,
if nothing else.

Watch out for them in pairs. I was driving a foreign visitor back from the pub
a couple of weeks ago, down a narrow country lane at dusk.

It was only about four miles worth, but we saw several rabbits, and a fox. He
was amazed to see so much wildlife in such a short period. I told him, the
danger was deer running out in front. Seconds later right on cue one leapt out
in front of us, I slowed right down, and carried on creeping along. He asked
why ? Right on cue again, a second one crossed at the same point.

my parent's car was written off by a flying deer.
the car in front hit it, it came sailing into the air and slammed onto
their radiator.
