A lion on the loose has been reported in the Clacton on Sea (Essex) area. The local (BBC) radio has just reported that the Police have set up road blocks! Perhaps the Police believe the lion is driving a 4x4. This is the same radio station that reported that snow is cold and white and floodplains flood as headline news items. -- mailto:news{at}admac(dot}myzen{dot}co{dot}uk |

Ha yes, I saw that, though Colchester Zoo say they're not missing any. I was waiting for the BBC reporter live at the scene (of nothing much happening) to suddenly have the lion leap at him, in a Monty Python style surreal event. -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. www.paras.org.uk |

Liverpool St Station announcement joke. "Harwich for the continent, Frinton on Sea for the incontinent". The presenters on London's local radio LBC seem to thing that the whole thing is a big laugh. When someone eventually does happen to come across the lion, they'll probably find it absolutely hilarious. -- Ian |

Depending on who it was, could be a fate richly deserved. It had
better not be Michael Fish brought out of retirement and moonlighting a different job ... "We've had some telephone reports of a lion called 'Hurricane' on the loose in these parts, but there's no sign of a hurricane at all ... aaarrrggghhh!" Long ago a French guy that I knew was driving past Rotterdam Zoo early one morning when he hit a kangaroo and damaged his car. He went off to call the police. When he got back to his car the kangaroo had gone, the zoo denied they had a missing kangaroo. At least his (damaged) car was still there! I once hit a deer, and it did a lot of damage. -- Davey. |

A while ago, there was a plan to bring back Michael Fish on a Friday
afternoon, no guesses for the projected title of the show.
