Okay, I have a multiswitch now with no directions. I have started experimenting with it so I can send both LNB feeds to the TiVo as well as run one of the feeds to the old receiver in the bedroom. I'm guessing you have a round dish, and a 2x4 multiswitch (or 2xsomething). If this is the case, you need to take both cables from the dish and put them in the inputs on the multiswitch. If you only have one output on the dish, you'll need to buy a dual-LNB for it, or if you have two outputs, but only one cable headed towards the multiswitch, you'll need to run another cable. -- script language=JScript// Scott Seligman for(var i=0;i73;i++)document.write(String.fromCharCode((" lsYrsiwb7pir~~|=~fr"+ (i)-("P2Y*!$1E5#()2*-"+ (i)+32));/script |

Hello, all. Thanks, Scott. That was it. While I don't quite understand it as the single LNB feed to a single receiver gets all the channels without the multiswitch, it does work to hook it all up. So, no partial tests for this stuff! Thanks. |

So, no partial tests for this stuff! A single cable going to a single LNB can get all the channels. The receiver sends +13 volts to the LNB to select half of the channels, and sends +18 volts to the LNB to select the other half. The two LNBs are identical in this respect. A properly wired multiswitch sends a constant +13v to one LNB and a constant +18v to the other LNB, which makes all the channels available internally. It then provides to each of the four receivers just what they ask for. -Joe |

I do learn a lot from this group, and am thankful to all. |
