Nobody chimed in for this one yet.
How about some kind of safe bolted through a wall with small holes in it for
the wires and a slightly bigger one for the remote?

Alternately, put it up too high to touch, and spray it with conductive
paint, Put 20000 volts on the paint and put a danger high voltage sign on
it?

Overnight? Or do you envisage that a canteen user might steal it during
the working day? (Which would be rather a sad comment on the workforce.)

With laptops and such like, there is a round-ended slot about the size
of medium screwdriver blade, about 5-6mm long by about 2-3mm wide.
This is to take a Kensington lock. If your STB has one of these, or
you could cut one somehow, you could buy a Kensington Lock.

A Kensington Lock consists of a headpiece that locks into the slot,
and cannot be removed with wrecking the casing of the item being
secured, and a tough cable fashioned into a loop that will resist
cutting with most tools. You put the cable around a fixture like a
radiator, bring it back through the loop, and then lock it to the
item. The item is then pretty safe against casual theft.

Fix it flat to the wall with a U shaped bracket across the case, using
tamper-proof screws.

It is a polaroid.

Is this bit significant?

Does it "pop out" printed TV pictures for example?

Or perhaps it has different pictures depending upon what glasses you have on
