Bill, If you're interested there is a Freeware program called "Total Recorder" - with this you could capture some of the iPlayer output as an MP3 and e-mail it to the beeb along with your complaint. Oh there's an idea. Cheers. Is it doing it all the time? I don't know. I only use iPlayer on the local when I miss the Howard Leader programme. This week I was called out on an emergency dog walk ("The dogs are going mad!"). Bill |

Not as many who die to mind numbing commercial pap I'd imagine. That audience will have extreme youth on their side, so less likely. |

"Bill Wright" wrote in message ... Was it here that someone remarked that BBC local radio via iPlayer had annoying clicks every few seconds? It was somewhere anyway. Well, I've got the Howard Leader programme on from BBC Lincs and it's clicking like mad. Anyone else noticed a fault on iPlayer with local stations? The BBC national radio channels play perfectly here, as does telly. Bill I have an internet radio. Only on the Local station (Shropshire) does it regularly play 'artifacts', although i've not tried Hereford & Worcester / WM yet.... Very annoying... Tim.. |

Bill Bill, If you're interested there is a Freeware program called "Total Recorder" - with this you could capture some of the iPlayer output as an MP3 and e-mail it to the beeb along with your complaint. Perhaps hit the "big boys" such as Feedback on Radio 4 so that your problem gets a wider audience. I was going to ask: Who at the BBC has this been reported to as yet? Anyone? If not, and it persists, I can see if I can nudge someone's elbow. Although I suspect they may know already and are looking at fixing it. Slainte, Jim Trying on Leeds, Sheffield and York this evening, and last night, I suspect recording from any of them and comparing the glitches that there are about five or six different "glitch sounds", but they are the same across those stations. As if they are being automatically randomly added. I am wondering if the national stations have enough editors who can ensure that songs are not all played in their entirety whereby people could "reuse" them if they record them, but the local stations simply do not have the staff so the BBC have used this method to prevent high quality recordings? Or it could just be a coincidence. -- MrGuest Always, seemingly, on the road to nowhere |

I believe it's a faulty routing matrix at the Internet ops. centre. It's being replaced as a matter of urgency. |

I expect everybody but me knows this, but yesterday I found there is an alternative to the iplayer stream. www.radiofeeds.co.uk shows an aacPlus/AAC stream at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r2_aaclca.pls There are streams for radio 1 through 6 plus a couple of others. Mplayer handles them fine. Absolutely no mention on the BBC stite of course. Now if they would only use HTML5 for the TV...................... -- Regards Dave Saville |
