Personally, I agreed with him, but that's just my view. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15977813 ... is still there and still (as of 15 seconds ago) works. André Coutanche Yes but it just shows an extract, not the bit at the end which apparently was worse. That's what we want to see, and that's what they've censored. Apparently, the bon mot in question was the second half of the story, for the sake of "BBC balance". The first half was a remark to the effect that he supported the strikes because the roads had less traffic than usual that morning. Overall, probably not his best effort... TrevM |

And this newsgroup is certainly doing its part in promoting the presence of Clarkson in people's minds. Naturally, this is just the type of "zelebnews" upon which celebrity based web sites such as Digital$py thrive. Maybe the original poster was trying to bring this technical news group down to the same standard? |

Please read the post I was replying to. If you genuinely think Clarkson was being serious you need help. That he's, as ever, an 'entertainer' making cheap shots to get publicity and thus make more money and I reckon he actually means what he says about as much as anyone else reading from a rehearsed script. Frankly, and I'm a petrol head who actually likes Top Gear (mostly), I think he should be the one being shot! As a school caretaker who came out on strike, after voting not to but going along with 'the Union', I reckon it was the wrong thing to say, at the wrong time. I hope he does at the very least apologise, but he won't .. he loves the publicity, courts it and doesn't mind appearing to be a ****wit to so many people, so often. Lowest common denominator demographic innit. |
