Default Crazy Oxford problem with one Digibox!?

Hi

I have tuned in everyone else's boxes in the street successfully and
all but one item of my own.

I have a Digihome HD recorder and even with manual scans on the
advised frequencies, scans without aerial in and then manual and
automatic scans after this, IT WILL NOT get the ITV muxes. If I put
the same aerial directly into the attached Freeview TV, it scans all
channels....but when I put it back in the Digihome box it won't.

Any ideas as this is driving me mad!?

TIA

Vigman

It;s a PVR160 Digihome, and my local aerial installer is telling me
that quite a few boxes won't retune to the new frequencies ? 8(((

There's a very old problem with Vestel boxes where they refuse to tune into 8k
muxes that have negative UHF Offsets. The ITV/4 mux and Arq A at Oxford both
nave -ve offsets,

It needs an OTA update to ver 5.7, or update can be done with a PC and a

Well, look at any transmitter's mux lineup, and you're likely to find at
least one mux on Ch XX+ or XX- (which are +/- 200kHz away from the
normal channel frequency). This is apparently done to avoid conflicts of
some sort.

I have tried the OTA upgrade path from the menu option but it says that one is not available. I'll investigate the PC based solutions...

Thanks

I think it's normally a plus or minus167kHz offset.

You may well be right. I was basing my figure of 200kHz on listings like
this http://www.ukfree.tv/txdetail.php?a=SP187426 where, for example,
COM4 is shown as C41+ (634.2MHz). I was assuming that 0.2MHz was 200kHz
- but it could well be 167kHz rounded to one decimal place.
