I'm pleased to report that the Kimberworth area of Rotherham can now
receive excellent DTT from Waltham. At a location on Church Street today it was a better signal than any alternative. I've just had a "You won't believe this!" phone call from one of my many engineers. Bill |

Not bad, still not got round to fitting an attenuator to mine to knock out Belmont and Sutton (bought one ready) a quick fiddle with Mr Jive's terrain plotter shows Wwaltham-Kimberworth is only bothering Mr Fresnel about the same as my Belmont-Leicester signal, further playing suggests Gawthorpe should pick it up even better, though closer signals would probably exist. |

Retuned my TV, in Leicester, yesterday when I realised that the local news was coming from somewhere much further north than Waltham, where it should have been coming from. (Didn't leave it on long enough to find out which region I was receiving, sorry. Sony must have received some complaints as well, as a new firmware has just been released for the set.) |

I did a terrain plot from the Library on Church St and it came out obstructed, to my surprise. Bill |

It'll be Belmont, which from Leicester is more or less straight on from Waltham and keep going and going, I get the same, thankfully my TV decides to ue the Waltham signal rather than the Belmont on by default |

I picked the first S61 postcode that came to hand which was a Winterhill School on Little Common lane, I don't know the area at all, so not sure if that't the right or wrong Kimberworth, but Waltham from there didn't seem any more obscured than Belmont is from here, which I know works. |

Ah. The school is much further up the hill. Incidentally in the days of Rotherham's old cable system there was an aerial near there for reception of Central on ch61. Here it is: http://www.wrightsaerials.tv/aerialp...ient/026.shtml Bill |

Pointing at Waltham too, with the remnants of a cabinet at the bottom, must have been a Rediffusion thing. It's not visible on Google, but you can see the shadow of the pole. http://g.co/maps/u67ds I went past last week & it's still standing. |
