Default The big awaited night starts at Midnight with the start of Yorkshire Switch Over.

Undecided if to stay up late and watch analogue BBC2 go off or get up early
to retune/scan Digital.

Regards
David

You could perhaps record this important event in the history of the
universe and watch it next day.

or get up early
to retune/scan Digital.

Do people have all-night parties for this sort of thing?

Middle of the night in the middle of the road -

Police officer to an unsteady group of people: Hello, hello, what's all
this then? On a pub-crawl, are we?

Person: Good morning offisher. No, we are on a retuning crawl.

Officer: Eh?

Various people speak at once attempting to explain.

Officer still looks unimpressed.

Another person (proudly): This is not an old-fashioned analogue crawl it
is a totally up to date digital crawl.

Police officer (realising that the group is a minimal threat to public
order, and that filling in the paperwork could be tricky): Move along
then. And be quiet.

People to one another (loudly): Ssssh, Ssssh, Ssssh...

There will be no fanfare, not nothing, it will just stop.

And Sutton Coldfield too.

Through the miracle of satellite transmission, I watched BBC Midlands Today at
18:30hrs tonight. Nice shots inside the Tx hall at Sutton C, including the BBC
2 analogue Tx, made pinging Tony Sayer by Pye TVT.

Thanks for that )

I was going to ask what time Sutton Coldfield starts to switch over but
you've answered it for me.

It's musical chairs around here as I believe ITV1 analogue moves from Ch43
to newly vacated Ch40 and BBC mux A begins on former ITV1 analogue Ch43

Possibly unrelated because my TX is Winter Hill, but I got home from work last
night to find that yet again there were a couple of blank files that should
have been programmes on my Freeview recorder, there were no stations tuned in,
and after I'd done a re-tune it had forgotten the details of all forthcoming
recordings which I then had to re-enter one by one. Why can't all this modern
clever stuff that's supposed to make life easy - just work?
