I'll be soo disappointed if it's floodlighting. -- fred FIVE TV's superbright logo - not the DOG's, it's ******** |

The absence of logos might indicate amateur radio. Doesn't microwave require a line of site? The van was operating in a road with terrace housing on both sides and so would be blocking any terrestrial signal. When I drove past the side and back doors were open and the van was jammed packed with racks of equipment with hardly any room for the two people operating the equipment. It wasn't working to a terrestrial tx/rx because the dish is pointing upwards, unless my eyes deceive me and it ISN'T offset. I'd be amazed at a ham fitting out a decent van like that, unless it was a large and prosperous club playing around with sat feeds. There's a pneumatic tower on the back as well. And two cameras. Could be a rich camper who likes his telly! Bill |

Mr Ratcliffe will be along in a moment to say that you are talking absolute utter ******** and that you are a moron. That's his way of saying that he believes you to be quite wrong in your assertion. Probably a complete red herring, this is the same bearing as the Bluebell Hill transmitter. Of course it's SNG. Very likely an interview with a local resident for regional TV news. If you see it again, check the local news programmes the same evening. |
