All sport should be on pay TV.

I don't have a problem with sports going to pay TV provided that

a) it is FTA

b) there are sensible micro payments for individual sports/events

I do have a problem with it going to a subscription service where you have
to pay extra (and/or install extra kit) to even think about receiving it and
where the only way of getting it is as part of a bundled subscription with
15 other sports that you may have no interest in.

Why would a pay TV service be FTA?

Exactly the opposite mechanism from the one we're offered.

I'm just sick to death of all the moaning sports fans. The alternative
to paying extra for watching it on the telly is to go to the event and
pay at the gate. Someone has to foot the bill for all the over-paid
sports people - I don't see why it should be everyone else.

Someone foots the bill for all the overpaid untalented "celebrities"
who appear on TV. At least sports people have skills.

You could buy 10 very good and telented celebrities for the price of one
talented in a narrow field but a moron in every other respect Wayne Rooney.

The problem with sport, is there's just so much of it these days. With
multi-channel TV there's simply no need to infest every channel with it
any more.

The same in principle would apply to The Proms?

Better than the rest of us having to pay for all sport on FTA TV via the
BBC licence fee. Paying a subscription is still cheaper than actually
going to the event.

be forgiven for thinking its a chain of fast food outlets... Brian
