I've had no problems transferring video from a 9200 using: http://www.enigma.eclipse.co.uk/huma...Controller.htm (running on an XP laptop). It's cheaper than a new PVR! With the latest Firmware, the original Humax software works too. Bizarrely the Humax software is no longer available via their website but I have a copy somewhere at home if anyone want it. A tip though, tune BOTH tuners to a "silent" station e.g. CBBC after 7pm or BBC4 before 7pm and the transfer will work better. It is very slow though. Best I've ever managed is around 4 x program speed. There is also a hack involving replacing the hard-drive cable with essentially a "Y", putting the box into standby and then using a PC to directly access the hard drive. Always seemed a little too hokey for my liking. Paul DS. |

They can also use a USB pen-drive or external drive but to copy large files you need the "disk" formatted using one of the Unix formats (and not FAT32). However I doubt they allow HD to be copied because of the encryption (?) used. Someone might be able to explain whether HD can be copied off but from my reading the answer is "possibly, but you won't be able to play it". Paul DS. This software is supposed to make HD files playable. http://hummy.tv/forum/threads/foxy-a...-released.240/ I'd be interested to know if anybody has used it. CM |

but I have a copy somewhere at home if anyone want it. http://www.humaxdigital.com/uk/suppo...ategory_seq=56 gives me links to 1.00.23 and loader 4.09. Have I missed a later version somewhere? A tip though, tune BOTH tuners to a "silent" station e.g. CBBC after 7pm or BBC4 before 7pm and the transfer will work better. FWIW I just switch the Humax to "Games" before starting transfers. And that exercises the "G" button on the remote which otherwise never gets used in this household ![]() -- Robin PM may be sent to rbw0{at}hotmail{dot}com |

My apologies for the brain fart above. Talking to SWMBO the penny dropped that you manifestly meant the Humax software for transferring files. AIUI one reason they took if off their site was that it don't work with 64 bit Vista/Windows. FWIW I use Humax Media Controller V1.05 on our 64-bit machines. There's also a GUI version but I've no experience of that. See eg http://myhumax.org/blog/?page_id=153 And sorry again to be so dim about the meaning of "Humax software" -- Robin PM may be sent to rbw0{at}hotmail{dot}com |

FWIW I use Humax Media Controller V1.05 on our 64-bit machines. There's also a GUI version but I've no experience of that. See eg http://myhumax.org/blog/?page_id=153 The GUI version works OK. For 64-bit Windows 7 you need a special USB driver. A link and detailed instructions for its installation and use with the GUI Media Controller is he http://myhumax.org/blog/?p=279 -- Max Demian |

It's a pain they dropped the USB port on the 9300.
Any chance that it's still on the motherboard but not wired up and therefore could be added? Paul DS. |
