Excellent pics, amazing detail.

You can see the hotspots and then what looks like the failure of the
casing structure with the guys holding it pretty much in place until the
last moment.

In UK do designers of structures like this consider options like
automatic shutdown and fire protection systems to cover eventualities
like these? Quite apt given the last pic of the horse in field (stable
bolted etc etc).

JOOI how long do you think it would take someone working near the top of
such a mast to make a *survivable* descent on learning of a fire? Or do
they have emergency gear such as inertia reels - or "base jumping"
chutes?

Well, this at a time when a similar mast had to be taken off the air at
Lopik to replace burned cables and a trashed power devider, I bet the
manufacturers of said devices will be facing some questions very soon now.
