I hope you realise that analogue finishes soon

It does live on in museums

and with some enthusiasts

The Bletchley Park museum sounds interesting.
Bill

It used to be, but since the new management moved in and the
enthusiasts forced out, you have to sell a kidney to afford to get in

Prices don't seem too bad to me.

Unless you make use of multiple visits it's about 3 times what it used to
be.

You are obviously more knowledgable about the place than I am Steve,
but to me a top price of £12 with concessions for other groups still
doesn't seem too over the top to me.

No. It's free because the first Blair government reversed the policy
of national museums charging for admission.

It depends on what there is to see. For £12 I'd want somewhere that kept
me busy all day. £12 for something that only took two hours would be a
swizz.

Incidentally the reason the National Railway Museum is free is because
they've figured they make more on the gift shop like that.

Bill

Funnily enough friends were there about a fortnight ago. They said
they thought at least two visits were needed to see it all.

No, they've considered charging recently and decided against it.

.... relating to VAT. Previously, museums weren't treated as businesses
unless they charged for entrance, so couldn't claim back VAT on their
purchases, the change of heart allowed them to offer free entry and
still claim back VAT.
