I thought it was pretty hopeless, a lot of ghosting on white trousered
line judges against dark green background, I preferred to watch it in plain HD. The 3D tended to distract the eye from the action of the players. Just my opinion. What do others think? Don |

I suppose it could be my tv or humax tuner , I also find it's tiring to watch, the foreground is VG but the backgound not so good. Don |

The ghosting is probably cross-talk between the left and right eye images caused by imperfect shuttering of the 3D glasses - i.e. the left eye sees some of the image intended for the right eye and vice versa. Different models of 3D TV perform differently in their ability to eliminate this effect. |

Correct - LCD-3D-TVs with shutter glasses are too slow for the 120 Hz frame switching, but on my DLP projector (Acer H5360) screen there is no glimpse of ghosting... Sorrily the resolution on the BBC 3D channel is really bad against the HD (2D) channel, in spite of the temporal Full-HD transponder adjustment... |

Sorrily the resolution on the BBC 3D channel is really bad against the HD (2D) channel, in spite of the temporal Full-HD transponder adjustment... Surprisingly, the average bit rate seemed to be only around 9 Mb/s. Presumably this is because much video information is being duplicated between the two halves of the screen. |

But isn't that because 3D effectively halves the resolution of each "half" of the picture? Either temporally or spatially, I'm not sure. SteveT |
