That is not just expensive but a total ripoff price. True. Since it was two years ago, I would guess it was not even draft 802.11n mode Draft 11n devices have been available for much longer than that. This is the device: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-DY.../dp/B003922QY4 and it lists 11n under "Data Link Protocol" and "Compliant Standards", and gives the data rate as 300Mb/s. However, the Amazon page also says it has been available since July 2006, which is before the draft 11n certification program, so who knows what the truth is. According to http://panasonic.jp/support/global/c...b/option1.html the cheaper WNDA3100 v.2 also works. But bear in mind that this is all for the 2010 models; I don't think we have even established the 2009 model has a USB port. -- Richard |

scribeth thus Hi all, My Dad's got a late 2009 model Panasonic 32" full HD set with both freeview & freesat built in. At the back of the set there's a standard network socket to take a normal RJ45 UTP network lead. His ADSL router is upstairs and his carpets are fixed down, so unfortunately there's no way that I can run a network lead to the set and he can't access the iPlayer feature as a result. So... does anyone know if I can get hold of some kind of adapter that I can plug into the socket and run it wirelessly instead? Yep, give Solwise a ring as ask them for what they'd recommend working on 5.8 Ghz away from the rabble on 2.4 G ....-- Tony Sayer |

That would be done wirelessly via the dongle. No, I still don't get it. If he can't run an ethernet cable from the router to the TV he can't extend the telephone cable to the TV either. The easiest, and cheapest solution would be a wireless bridge/gaming adapter of some description. I use this one for the same TV purpose http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-TL-W...cp_computers_1 under £18 so cheaper than Homeplugs (and less power hungry). Streams HD Video nicely. My son uses one for his TV. very good There is even a review on there with the setting to use. John |

My dad's fanatically tidy (compared to me & the chronic dump I live in) so no amount of cable would be tolerated. I suspect that the cheapo WAP from Amazon will be the way to go, as I don't believe he has a USB socket in the set. TTFN! |
