If you go to this website http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/how_do_i_switch
put in your address details and tick the box that says you're an aerial
installer you'll get all the current channel allocations PLUS any
future ones for your address

Or it gives you complete b#@!$*&~#s information!

That site appears to believe that in my part of Southend-on-Sea people
will be using the Dover transmitter. That may be news for 99.99% people
in the area of who have their aerials pointing at Crystal Palace,
Bluebell Hill or possibly Sudbury.

Giving completely wrong information is just as bad as giving none at
all.

Worse, actually.

As these Argos signal meters for £14.99?

I'm not sure what you are asking.

It also doesn't help when you top-post.

Apologies for top - posting. I have now lowered the RF to 21 but somewhere
along the line the SLx Magic Eye has stopped working on the kitchen tv. I
have changed one of the eyes as it is a 4 eye pack and still does not work.
The red light is on the unit and it flashes when the sky remote is pressed
but this does not work. Would this be linked to the RF change?

Regards

Mark

Now that you have told us it's Sandy, 21 is not a good choice. There is an HD MUX
on 21 that will get stronger in 12 months time.
Use a channel between 30 & 40

I have a freeview aerial in my loft as high as I can get it.I come off
that
into a 4 way amplifier which is also in the loft.. 2 of the leads from
the
amplifier feed into 2 bedroom tvs and they give a good freeviw reception.
The 3rd lead goes down to the main lounge tv where we also have a sky hd
box. Out of the back of the HD box I feed the main tv in HD cable and
coaxial. I also have taken another coaxial out of the HD box to the
kitchen
tv. This allows me to watch digital and sky on the kitchen tele. I have
a
Panasonic 37" plasma in the lounge and a new Samsung 19" LED in kitchen (
sound on this tele is awful). I have also installed a magic eye on the
kitchen tele. The problem I have is that I cannot get all the freeview
channels on the lounge and kitchen televisions. We had the analogue
switched off 2 months ago. Is the problem due to the digital signal
going
through the sky hd box?

Mark

Check which UHF channel you've got your HD channel RF output set to. You
may find its on the same channel as one of the freeview multpliexes. If so
move the channel on the HD box and see if that resolves it.

Also don't forget most modulators produce a DSB signal so they will wipe out
the channel below their output channel just as thoroughly as their output
channel. Sometimes they can also splatter further than a single channel each
side of the carrier.

I've noticed that some recent Sky boxes turn on the RF2 power,
regardless of that menu setting (or maybe it's a function of the Sky
software version).
