I see that they've commenced 'Now & Next' programme information, but not
yet the full 7 day EPG.

I'd say that NHK World HD is far more obviously high-def

I knew the BBC was using 1440x1080 rather than 1920x1080 for their HD
outputs, and had assumed the other UK broadcasters would follow their
lead, but having a poke around in the streams, I see that ITV1HD, C4HD
and NHKHD are all 1920x1080.

Is the BBC's 'refit' to make BBC1 an end-to-end HD channel, with the SD
output always being downscaled, rather than the HD output sometimes
being upscaled, still in progress? If so, any murmurs that they will
switch to 1920x1080 when it's complete?

If just done a Freesat scan on a Humax box. NHK World HD is now in the
Freesat EPG at channel 209 replacing the previous SD version.

It has now got full 7 day EPG data, before launch it only had quite
patchy now/next data, surprised they didn't need to test that before launch.

If you are using a Freesat box in Freesat mode, the so-called now/next
data displayed by pressing the "i" or info" button actually comes from
the EPG. That means that the actual now/next data is not used (unless
perhaps EPG data is absent).

Once you have pressed the "i" button and got details of the current
programme you can press the left button (-) as many times as you like
to look ahead profgramme by programme, at least until you finger starts
to ache.

Eagle-eyed readers would have recognised that as the right button.

Does this mean SD boxes have lost it?

I think this station will win the prize for the worst HD DOG.

No. HD receivers will present the HD service and SD receivers the SD
service. In either case the channel number on Freesat is 209.

Channel id on Eurobird1 has also now changed from 53147 to NHK World HD.
