I always switch my Humax 9200 (using latest firmware) back to stand-by at
night. The following day, when I come to switch it on, even though the clock appears on the display, it comes on extremely quickly - i.e. without the usual run up - as if it is actually on. The only other times I have known this happen are if you switch it on less than 15 minutes before a scheduled recording - which is not the case now. Is this the 'thinks it's recording' problem. Any suggestions please? V |

I think I had this with the latest update. I reset the settings through the menu and it solved the problem for me. I don't think I'd done a settings reset after the last update, which may have been the issue. D |

The fact that the EPG is written to disk does not affect the startup time, that is, the time between pushing the On/Off button and being able to watch a broadcast channel or a recording. The EPG is loaded from disk after that and updated from the over-the-air epg information. I very occasionally see what Victor Delta describes with my 9200. The box will normally wake up in the middle of the night to check for a software update and then go back into standby. This is at 03:00 by default. -- Peter Duncanson (in uk.tech.digital-tv) |

I've had this occasionally, but not so much since the .23 update. If you haven't since the latest software update, do a "Default Setting" (loses the schedule and one or two other setting but not recorded programmes). The immediate remedy is to power down at the back and on again. -- Max Demian |

It shouldn't really need a default reset in this case. Have you switched off the automatic software update? This can cause the machine to be on in the morning. (Note that Default Setting switches automatic software update back on.) -- Max Demian |
