Yes indeed, as to become a saint one has to be dead first
it's something millions have been longingly waiting for.

This was something my mother looked forward to. Unfortunately she died
before her dream could be realised.

I think she was hoping for Thatcher to have a heart attack so she
could emulate Churchill's

"Congratulations on heart attack. Didn't know you had one"

More amusing was Evelyn Waugh, after Randolph Churchill had a
non-malignant growth removed. He said the surgeon had removed "the only
part of Randolph that was NOT malignant".

Even longer than you might think.

When everyone was asleep, I used to go to the living room and listen
with my ear pressed to the radio that was built into the TV ('59/'60).

AFN and Luxembourg were my favourites, but I would listen to anything.

An English-Hungarian phrasebook in fact.

I have always wondered where the street scenes were filmed since
they look distinctly Northern, perhaps Huddersfield?

Far more likely to be somewhere in London. There appear to be a set of
floodlight pylons in the background of one shot, so possibly near a
football ground.
