Hi all, I wonder if you can help with this:
I have a Panny lcd tv with viera link connected to a Panny HD DVD recorder and a Panny blu-ray player. I can't for the life of me get viera link to workm all I get is "function not avaioable". The 3 units are connected exactly as per their respective manuals, the dvd has an hdmi ltad to the lowest number hdmi input on the tv, as well as a scart cable from one to the other. The blu-ray just has an hdmi lead to the tv and a toslink to the av reciever. Something is working as I can use pause live tv, record live tv and rewind live tv. I still have to select each unit individually tho' Has anyone got tis combination to work? TX-L37V10B DMR-XW380 DMP-BD60 Thanks Bob |

The DVD and blu-ray may have a menu option to determine whether they respond to HDMI control, "Q-link" (i.e. control over scart), or both. -- Richard |

I bought a full spec HDMI 1.4 cable to connect my camcorder to the TV. HDMI control didn't work, so I bought a different one. It still didn't work, so I visited a Sony Centre to see if I could try the camera there. They wheeled out one of their cables (it wasn't Sony branded) and it then worked correctly. So I now know of at least two full spec cables that most definitely are not. John |
