ITV1HD - Central Astra 2D

I see from Kingofsat that this shares a transponder with ITV1HD
Granada & STV HD, both of wich are in the clear but Central is
scrambled. Does anyone know why this is?

Nothing special about Central West, maybe the scrambling is to prevent
people outside the midlands the trauma of seeing Bob Warman doing the
news.

Another oddity is that STV HD appears to be at a resolution of 1920*1080.

Probably Sky trying to cripple Freesat. Presumably,
that channel can't be picked up on Freesat receivers,
which only have two English regions on HD
(London/Granada).

Another oddity is that STV HD appears to be at a resolution of 1920*1080.


As is Granada, The London encoding has a tendency to
"stutter" on my receiver.
