Has the OP used the HDMI cables from his DVD recorder to the TV... I
did and alsorts of funny things started to happen with my TV and DVD
Recorder, both made by Panasonic

If using HDMI cale, suggest you unplug it

Jim
An HDMI cable is by far the best way to connect a Panasonic DMR-XS350 to
the TV as it records in HD to the hard disc. I use HDMI with no problems
at all.

I had my Panasonic TV connected to my Panasonic DVD recorder and could
nopt work out why, everytime I switched the TV off to stanby with it's
remote, it switched the DVD Recorder off permanently.

Visited the shop where I got both items from and the salesman was
mystified. They sent the TV installer to see if he could work out what I
was meaning. He was baffled also when he tried it.

When I told him that the only thing I had done was put the HDMI cable on
he said that was the problem. Removed it and all is well again now.

Yep, funny things do seem to occur with the HDMI connector (up-market,
gold-plated version!), more options - Viera? link. Now getting DVB as
default when turning it all on - default was Freesat from the dish, so
have to select HDMI input from menu. Probably an option somewhere (TV
and/or DVD remote?) to default to Freesat input. Cabling DVD/TV done as
per manual(s). But I now get HD reception, noticeably sharper/clearer, so
I'll need to be bored before experimenting further.
Analogue/antenna reception here is poor, and digital (Freeview)
non-existent (so DVB tuning reporting "No stations" was expected).

Keith

How many Freesat channels do you get with Automatic listing, I get 163 and
over 450 when Manual listing carried out.

I have a Panasonic DMR-XS350EB - worked fine.
Today the TV (ancient Protech) failed so I bought a Panasonic
TX-L32X20B, theory being Panasonic DVD Recorder/Panasonic TV combo, no
problems.
Reality: whilst setting up DVD remote to control TV (it worked fine
when I tuned it for the Protech) I have got the DVD displaying "DVD 3"
and the remote no longer controls the DVD recorder, but does, now, work
the TV on/off, vol, CH and AV buttons.
I've tried the "hard" DVD reset (pressing up-and-down channel buttons,
on DVD recorder, for 5 seconds) - display still shows "DVD 3" and DVD
remote still does not control the DVD recorder - which has started to
record a couple of programmes setup earlier this week.
Which key sequences do I require to get my DVD recorder remote to work
again?

TIA

Keith
Press the power button and 3 on the remote control together for a few
seconds then it should work. If you want to revert to DVD 1 then you can
now get in the 350's set-up and change it back. HTH

If that's a problem then you can switch off viera-link in the TV's
menus. Unless you connect the component cables there's no other way to
watch HD recordings. Scart does not carry HD.

164 Auto. I only have Manual under DVB, I'll try setup (or initialise or
whatever) later.
I get 658 under Other satellites, many presumably subscription (I know Sky
is), so can't view all of them.
