Have I bricked my pvr (remote control)?

Already tried these...
Just returned from Panasonic shop - very helpful but only solution is to
return the recorder to store of purchase, John Lewis, 40 miles away!

Hopefully there's an "Engineers" remote of some jump switches to (re)set
in the recorder.

Decided to have a coffee before setting out, gave the recorder its last
chance before being returned - remote worked! Panic over.
Don't know what happened, except that I took the recorder remote with me, so
it wasn't near the tv for an hour or so (warnings in manual about "nearby
devices"). Probably not relevant but SWMBO is now a happy bunny.

Press the power button and 3 on the remote control together for a few
seconds then it should work. If you want to revert to DVD 1 then you can
now get in the 350's set-up and change it back. HTH

It is definitely the remote, as Richard said, press 3 and OK together on
the remote for more than 5 seconds and it should then operate the
recorder, after that you can set the TV code for that it is TV power 01
for a Panasonic TV.

alsorts of funny things started to happen with my TV and DVD Recorder, both
made by Panasonic

If using HDMI cale, suggest you unplug it

I'd already tried that option (see earlier in this thread) along with other
numerics suggested, without success.
However, I gave the kit a 'last-chance' between returning from the Panasonic
shop and going to JLs - I'd taken (just) the remote with me - and it now
worked!

An HDMI cable is by far the best way to connect a Panasonic DMR-XS350 to
the TV as it records in HD to the hard disc. I use HDMI with no problems
at all.

I had my Panasonic TV connected to my Panasonic DVD recorder and could nopt
work out why, everytime I switched the TV off to stanby with it's remote, it
switched the DVD Recorder off permanently.

Visited the shop where I got both items from and the salesman was mystified.
They sent the TV installer to see if he could work out what I was meaning.
He was baffled also when he tried it.

When I told him that the only thing I had done was put the HDMI cable on he
said that was the problem. Removed it and all is well again now.

On my Panasonic TV, this is controlled by "Standby Power Save" in
"Link Settings" in the "System" menu.

Yep, funny things do seem to occur with the HDMI connector (up-market,
gold-plated version!), more options - Viera? link. Now getting DVB as
default when turning it all on - default was Freesat from the dish, so have
to select HDMI input from menu. Probably an option somewhere (TV and/or DVD
remote?) to default to Freesat input. Cabling DVD/TV done as per manual(s).
But I now get HD reception, noticeably sharper/clearer, so I'll need to be
bored before experimenting further.
Analogue/antenna reception here is poor, and digital (Freeview) non-existent
(so DVB tuning reporting "No stations" was expected).
