Do you think there should be 15 BBC-1 HD +1 streams and 15 ITV-1 HD +1
streams as well?

I'd be just as happy with a "stupid O clock in the morning" repeat on
the main channel, of course.

Does not BBC i-Player provide this type of service?

+1 stations and i-Player and associates are signs that the broadcasters
are finally realizing that the days of linear TV broadcasts are coming
to an end.

Of course the 64 trillion Pound Sterling question is

"Will BBC-1 HD have a DOG?"

Will you send me the 64 trillion Pound Sterling if I guess correctly?

You have to pay the security and handling fee in advance, and then
go to a warehouse in Lagos, Nigeria to pick up the trunk containing
the bank notes in person

Thank goodness for +1 channels I say :-)

Well, yes, I see what you mean, but on the other hand I get only two
MUXs (I'm on a relay) and the channels I get - apart from the
"terrestrial" and BBC channels are;

4+1
More 4
ITV 2
ITV 2+1
E4
Rabbit
Gay Rabbit

What a ****poor selection!

Thank you. That's very helpful. :-)

I already avoid five due to the DOG so changing it won't make any
difference.

I find people like you a bit strange to be honest. I watch "programmes" not
"channels". If there's a programme that I want to watch, I watch it, DOG or
not. I hate DOGs but they are here to stay so I'm not going to cut off my
nose to spite my face.

There is very little on five that I want to watch anyway, if there is
I'm quite happy to wait for it on DVD and to rent the series for a
couple of quid.

Its not those that annoy me its the total waste of space of +1 channels that
annoys me.

I mean, with the advent of really cheap time shifter boxes which I prefer
to call them, what exactly is the point? The only one I can see is that
people who are really disorganised get to forget to record stuff they wanted
to see and catch it an hour later, well I'm sorry if that is the only
reason, then why not have channels that repeat everything an hour later on
for ever, Oh, yes those exist as well don't they.. grin.
Total shambles.
Speaking as somebody WITH a 2-tuner PVR (topfield)
I find +1 channels useful when there's a THREE way
clash; this sometimes happens in the 21:00 timeslot.

Lacking other repeats, the +1 channels become valuable to me.
I agree. Speaking as a TiVo owner who watches programmes not channels, the
extra showings are always welcome. The great thing is once I've set up
multiple Season Passes for a programme on each of its channels, I can
forget about it and just let the recordings flow in. I never need to worry
about which channel any episode is being recorded from. TiVo just picks
the one that doesn't clash first and handles it all for me without getting
two copies of anything.

I'd be just as happy with a "stupid O clock in the morning"
repeat on the main channel, of course.
Those are fine for me too. The more showings, the better! Some people may
not like the signing however.

The only problem with TiVo is they're getting rather long in the tooth
now and when they die will be very difficult to replace.

With series1, yes. New UK TiVos coming to Virgin soon.

But those will only be of use to cable customers.

I'm not a little old woman but a big old man who hates DOGs. I find
DOGs distract me from program watching because my eyes always drift up
to the DOG.
