I did try. i will try harder.
It is a very cluttered side of the engine.

I need to buy a torx key set. But as i said if anyone can tell me how to
remove the LT connector will just leave the old one where it is and put
the new one somewhere sensible.

On a slightly older Ford Focus, there is a metal bar on the LT connector you
simply push in and the plug comes out easily.

Might be the same if you are lucky!

It's always worth having a look on the Web, if you haven't already done
so. Putting "replacing coils Fiesta" into Google turns up several
promising-looking hits.

For the benefit of others I have fitted the coils.

Tools required.
T25 Torx key
Car ramps

The Coils are really only reachable from underneath.
They are above the oil filter, under the injectors. You can touch them from
above but cannot do anything. so don't bother.
The LT connector is held in place with a metal slidy bit but you cannot get
to this unless you dismount the coils.

If you reach up and do the job it it should take about 20-30 mins. The
screws are machine type and should come loose once you get them to move..
They are just really hard to get to, as there is only room for one hand to
do the job.

I had to use torx keys as that is what I purchased. I used them the long way
and used a screwdriver handle to increase the torque. You could try T handle
drivers but I think you will have trouble getting them to turn because of
the restricted access. You cannot get keys in the short way. too much bits
and pieces around.

In short, not a terrible job once you know what to do, but I am still stuck
with one question. WHY MOUNT THEM THERE?
Hope this helps.

I think that only answer is "because they can" ....

Hope this helps.

Glad you got it sorted..

Because it cut 50p off the manufacturing cost. Why else?

Remember the old Mini, with the coil behind the grill?

Wasn't so bad with the normal Mini with removable grille, but it was a
******* when it was a van with a single pressing for the front. That also
made fan belt changing a pain.

Suppose they wanted the coil nice and near the distributor, and they had
to put that at the front.

I found condensation in the distributor was the major problem.
