Default Had the IRS install today

All went well (had the route the cable along the air vent) although I was
surprised when they just left me with a cable going down the wall in stick
on trunking which has two f connectors on the end of it which goes straight
into the SKY HD Box, and no new aerial or FM port so basically a TV SAT & FM
wallplate has not been installed... I am right on the end of the cabling...
oh well only need to use the Satellite connection anyway and that works ok,
it took them 2hr 30mins so I should be charged £ 150.

and I should add that they are bloody hard working guys, I had two of them
round Chris and Alex one was 22 the other 26 it took them some quite
considerable effort to get the cable into my flat, they had to go from the
switch in the communal loft out into the air vent then back into the loft
above my flat through the ceiling and down the wall which sounds easier then
it was, the lofts were not interlinked which made it harder.. I am very
pleased to now have Satellite it was well worth in my opinion.

Will the "new" TV and FM signal be available from your existing wallplate?

No there is no FM on the existing wallplate all they did was bring in the
satellite cable. I am not really bothered as no doubt I will be able to get
digital tv through the existing wallplate.

We do but these guys were british. One of them seemed to do most of the
work and sweat was pouring off him after. Apparently the loft space does not
give you much room to work.

But are they connecting the existing wallplates to the new head end?
This may give you UHF/FM/DAB if you use a diplexer/triplexer.

I don`t think so, I think they just run the new cable in.

I wonder though if the new cable would also be carrying the aerial and fm
signals and if I split it to a box I would have all the connections
available... the cable they have put in looks rather thin however.
