As I have mentioned previously we are having an IRS installed on my estate
and the IRS masts have already gone up, previously I thought all the flats
on my estate were going to have their wallplates changed automatically but
now it seems that this work is chargeable at £ 60 per hour. I now know who
the company is who erected the IRS mast and have contacted them to have the
work carried out, they reckon it could take 2 hours and said it would be
easier if my flat was on the top floor which it is. The good thing is that I
was under the impression that we could only have 1 feed but I am getting 2
feeds installed.

OK, I'll bite - £60 an hour - 2 hours to fit a wallplate - how _do_
they make a profit?!

Cheers,
David.

Not sure what you mean, are you saying approx £ 120 to fit a wallplate is a
rip off, or that they are being generous. Its a lot more involved then
fitting a wallplate they have to go into the loft and run cables through the
roof space then I guess down the wall cavity.

Good grief man. Given the poor job that we've established these people did
of the dish installation, why don't you think it would be better if you
just arranged your affairs so that you were at home on the day? "Arrange
to have a locksmith" FFS (instead of "come back with the right key")! Take
a day off work - whatever - just BE THERE to make sure the faceplates go
where YOU want them and they make good whatever mess they may make of the
wall.

Where did I imply that I am not taking the day off? The States of Jersey
have since emailed me back saying they will contact the installers to ensure
they have the key so a Locksmith should not now be required. The installer
also said they would contact the States of Jersey in an effort to get the
key so the problem should now be solved.
