Default 4oD via Youtube

Has anyone got an explanation as to why Channel 4oD is available on
youtube as well.

I may of course be missing something but is there any advantage via youtube.

Much of the content of the Interweb is duplicated. But many people
don't realise because they only visit a small number of websites on a
regular basis.

I suppose hosting the programmes on YouTube makes them available to an
audience that may not have seen them otherwise; makes them appear in
YouTube search results; and reduces 'bandwidth' costs for Channel 4.

A similar question might be: why does Channel 4 broadcast via
satellite, cable, online and terrestrially?

Yes, I suppose you are right but I would have thought the other
broadcasters would have followed suit if it'd been a business plus point.
