Default Humax 9200, post upgrade woes

I thought my son's Humax 9200 was sorted after the recent download, however
he emailed[*] me this evening to tell me that he had still been having
problems, has anyone here experienced anything similar since the upgrade?
|[*] "Forgot to tell you that the Humax started to miss / break recordings,
then the other day it lost all stored recordings.
Yesterday it would not record anything at all so I formatted its hard drive
and touch wood it has been perfect so far."

No, working perfectly. As you mentioned, a reformat and full reset is
sometimes necessary if the hard drive has become corrupted. The only time
I've had that (a couple of years ago), every recording was listed twice and
they would usually play the wrong programme.

But this time I've had no probs at all.

Thanks Steve, I didn't know if it was something connected with the recent
upgrade, obviously not if yours is still behaving itself, no doubt he'll let
me know if he still has problems!

Well, perhaps others will comment. I'm only a sample size of one!

I'm only a sample size of one, too. Together we are two.

I've not noticed any problems since the upgrade. My 9200T seems to be
working the way it should.

Now four, used to have to delete a load of channels to get mine to work to
any degree but since the upgrade I still have all the channels listed (god
knows why, only watch a few) and touch wood it's been fine, get my signal
from Crystal Palace if it matters.

5 - did the upgrade and then a full "reset to factory defaults". It did
miss a single recording but since it's been fine since, I'm assuming this
was a problem with the TV channel and not the Humax.

Once again, thanks to everyone for the input, at least I know now that it
was a problem with his receiver, perhaps the hard drive is beginning to get
a bit flaky?. time will tell. BTW I've noticed that IDE drives (from my
usual supplier Novatech at least) appear to be becoming rarer and more
expensive.
