From Grauniad letters page today:

"Your comprehensive guide to the World Cup (5 June) told us everything
we needed to know, except how to avoid it!"

And Channel 4 doesn't have the decency to give us 24-hour live streaming
from the Big Brother House as an alternative.

I've just checked the BB website. Live streaming via the interwebthingie
is available in exchange for money. That's better than nothing.

Who pays who? I would need at least £100 an hour to watch Big Brother.

Ah well. I may have to watch all this year's episodes of Doctor Who that
I've recorded and not watched.

I have already watched most of the Dr Who. I still have a huge
collection of Shaun the Sheep that must be watched.

I've been recording South Park that's being broadcast on Viva. That will
give me something else to watch instead of the f*******.

What is it about these people? Getting onto the flats agent demanding
TV system repairs on minor faults that no-one's bothered with for
years. "It's the World Cup so it must be fixed this week."
Bloke rung the agent this morning and said that he'd bought two new
tellys and they both had poor reception. Therefore he wanted us to go
round TODAY to 'install a complete new TV system'. He'd taken today
off so that he could be there when we did it. When told today was
impossible he moaned about loss of earnings. The system is totally
****ed but the building is badly in arrears and no work can be done
until a few people pay their ground rent. So he's stuffed.
There was a bit of lightning damage round here the other day and the
complaints are coming in, some of them accompanied by threats. "I
won't pay my groundrent." "I'll sue you for my Sky subscription."
"I'll get someone else in and send you the bill."
Bloody football seems to bring out the worst in people.

Bill

I blame the relentless advertising. I get the general impression from the
media that the World Cup can't be properly viewed on a telly that isn't
brand new. A special beer fridge with a glass door is essential too.

Seems that bloke fell for it, you probably could've sold him a special
'World Cup Football Viewing Enhancement Box' to put on his aerial feed for
£99.99.

The same 'donuts' who wear flags on their cars and houses no doubt.

I shall be painting my front railings sometime in the next few weeks -
I suppose I could put a webcam up if anyone wants to watch paint dry.

Owain

Are you painting them white, with red cross by any chance?

: )

Sorry. I should have said "better than football".
